Who is he writing the diary for? Why?
Why is he attracted to O'Brian but repulsed by the girl?
What does he mean when he says "Thought Crime does not entail death: Thought Crime is death?"
Why does he feel nervous when the children start yelling "thought criminal" and surrounding him?
Why do the people feel it was impossible to not join in in the 2 Minutes of Hate?
Do you think the government will ever get to this point? Why or why not?
Winston feels nervous when the children are chanting "thought crime" at him because he had just committed a thought crime. Winston had just written "down with big brother" multiple times in his diary. The children are also Junior Spies who help catch adult that comit thought crimes. -Carly Blackard b8
ReplyDeleteI agree with this, Winston is just afraid that he actually will be caught for crimes that he has been committing. He knows the children know and just gets paranoid abut their chanting.
