Do you think there is a chance of a revolution against the party? If so, which group would lead the revolt?
ReplyDeleteI think there is a chance of a revolution. Members like Winston who are against the party will lead the revolt because they are intelligent and they would use help from the proles because they have more freedom than the rest of the people.
I disagree with your statement. I don't think enough party members would be able to rally up and revolt against the inner party. Only because there is so much surveillance that their plan could never be set into action. If a revolution did come It would most likely be the proles leading it. But even then I think a revolution would be extremely hard to obtain.
DeleteI agree with Carly. The Proles are the largest group, so they would have the most physical power, but because they do not hold much social power the hope for a revolution is very low.
DeleteIf I lived in 1984 I would like to be a prole. Even though they are much much more poorer, the inner party does not watch them as closely as the party members. I don't think I would be able to handled the strict and inhuman rules of the inner party.
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in this society i would've rather been a prole. Proles are the only free ones. The proles aren't being watched by the Party, in fact they are ignored by the Party. I feel that having my freedom and being in the lower class is better way to spend my life rather than being in the middle to upper classes and having no freedom whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteI agree. People are being watched by the party and to me that seems like a stressful and painful life. While proles get harder low class jobs, all party members have to work somehow anyways. So, I'd rather not be watched and be considered as an insignificant party member rather than living under pressure 24/7.
DeleteIf my relationship was controlled, I think I would act very stand-offish because I would feel that since I did not get to choose who I dated/ married then I would not be able to bond as closely with some random person that I did not exactly choose to like. I think it would be like this for everyone, except for the random couples that actually got along really well and truely liked each other.
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in this society I would like to be a Prole. The Proles are not being watched by telescreens 24/7 like everyone else. They are overlooked and classified as a group not as individuals.
